Talk about a time when you went to a very good event which was attended by many people. Please say
– What was the event?
– Who did you go there with?
– How did you feel during and after the event?
An event can be anything – a birthday, a marriage, a seminar, a conference. Each of these events is attended with different sets of people. Design your strategy according to the event you choose. Spend the one minute, IELTS gives you to think, very carefully. As usual, I’ll suggest writing down six points.
Event: A reunion of my university’s class of 2005 in March 2017; at New Delhi, India.
Details: Went with my close friends; met classmates after 12 years; revised contacts; Felt nostalgic (old memories).
A sample answer is as follows:
“I vividly remember the March 2017 reunion function of my alma mater’s engineering class of 2005 at New Delhi, India. This was our first reunion in more than a decade, and I attended that function with my closest friend XYZ. Meeting old friends after a long span of time was a great experience. I felt nostalgic. We shared not only old memories but also discussed the path we had all tread during these years.”
Some of the follow-up questions are as follows:
- Why did you go to the event?
- How many people went there? Was it over-crowded?
- What are the benefits and drawbacks of reunions?
- Should people go to such events (/reunions)? Why?
