Since the dawn of human civilization, men have dominated the high-paying, high-level positions in most cultures. Their position has been strengthened with the more recent phenomenon of industrialization. In such a scenario, it is impossible for women to uplift themselves without the support of the government. Reservation will not only promote economic upliftment of women and bring social equity but also make the world of business more diverse.

Body Paragraph 1: (Reason 1 supporting opinion)

Reservation of jobs for women in both private and public sector will lead to the economic empowerment of women across the world. Women work hard for their families. However, their labor is unpaid. Giving them economic opportunity to express themselves professionally will help them gain confidence and give financial stability to families.

Body Paragraph 2: (Reason 2 supporting opinion)

Moreover, reservation of jobs will bring social equity, if not equality. Bridging the economic gap between the two genders is important to bring social stability. An educated and working woman not only supports her family but also raises educated, law-abiding and financially independent children. This will also play an instrumental role in reducing violence against women and children.

Giving more jobs to women will promote diversity in corporate as well as government sectors. Various researchers have proven that diversity of opinions in an institution helps make better and more sustainable decisions. For instance, large corporate houses such as the Tata, in India, have made it a policy to appoint at least 33 percent women members in their board of directors. Government reservation will help implement such policies in various sectors and industries.

Conclusion:

Government’s encouragement of reservation of jobs for women may be seen as an anti-merit decision by some people. However, its advantages far outweigh its disadvantages.
