Introduction: (Introduce along with your OPINION and MENTION reasons supporting your opinion.)

Undoubtedly, a region has a deep impact on its residents. I believe it plays a crucial role in a person’s economic success or failure. A region influences the education an individual gets, the opportunities he comes across and the work culture he imbibes.

Body Paragraph 1: (Reason 1 – Education)

Educational standards are distinct for different countries and within a country, they vary from one region to another. For instance, Canada’s education system is superior to that of India. However, within Canada, the Toronto region has better education infrastructure than many parts of interior Canada. Thus, a person educated in Toronto has higher chances of success than a person born anywhere else in Canada or in India.

Body Paragraph 2: (Reason 2 – Economic Opportunities)

Similarly, economic opportunities vary from one region to another. Regional concentration of business leads more economic opportunities in certain areas leading to higher chances of success for people of that region. New Delhi and Mumbai are, for example, business and commerce hubs of India. A person born in the hinterland of Punjab has far lesser opportunities than a person who has witnessed business in these cities.

Body Paragraph 3: (Reason 3 – Work Culture)

Most importantly, the culture of a region plays an instrumental role in the success of its individuals. The United States is often divided into several parts based on its work culture. While Eastern U.S.A is termed as the business hub of the world with its 24 hours work culture, Western U.S.A is more relaxed. Consequently, the chances of success for a person are more in the Eastern part of the country.

Conclusion: (Conclude by mentioning the other side of the debate + future and impact.)

Though some individuals have undoubtedly succeeded despite their regional backwardness (Other side of the debate), these examples an exception and not a rule. A region shapes an individual in numerous ways, and this is the primary reason that people migrate from one area to another.
