IELTS Task 2 Answer Correction: Employers Ask Personal Information.

Employers sometimes ask people applying for jobs for personal information such as their hobbies and interests, and whether they are married or single. Some people say that this information may be relevant and useful. Others disagree. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Nowadays, businesspersons want those employees who have several skills and qualities for doing appropriate work. Hence, they obtain data with specific interview questions about leisure activities and marital status. Some people believe that this data is helpful when employees perform their job, while, others opine this statement is irrelevant and useless.

Firstly, enterprises put questions regarding hobbies and interests, since they have curiosities the curiosity to know whether the persons who are applying for jobs are eligible or not. Leisure pursuits illustrate an individual‘s personality as well as dedication, determination, and discipline for achieving a goal. For instance, if a person engages in the community and charitable activities, this will show, he definitely has leadership quality which is effective for performing responsibility full tasks responsibly. Furthermore, employers ask questions about married life, because they sometimes offer several facilities such as free studies of children and medical facilities.

Secondly, other individuals who do not agree with this sharing personal information, since they think that every person has a secret and personal life. Despite, there is no need to mention anything related to personal hobbies and interests as well as marital life, because they believe these questions are not relevant and helpful in any job, on. (start a fresh sentence) On the contrary, there is only a requirement of certificates of academic performances and work experiences. Consequently, several persons hesitate to share their personal data such as family members and interests.

In conclusion, from my opinion, I believe that if an employer seeks personal information, it does not mean he interferes with the/an employee’s personal life, this will demonstrate that he only wants particular information which is helpful while carrying out difficult works and working as a team member of his employees.
