2018 Ivey aspirants need to write the following essays well in order to secure a place at the prestigious institution.

Richard Ivey Essay 1: What are your short-term career plans immediately post-MBA, and why is an Ivey MBA essential to those plans? (250 words)

Richard Ivey Essay 2: Why will your Ivey MBA classmates want to work with you on team projects?   (250 words)

Richard Ivey Re-Applicant Essay: Please highlight any significant changes / developments since your previous application to Ivey? (250 word limit)

You can read an insightful article on SHORT TERM GOALS and make your notes before writing an answer. More important is to connect these goals with the Ivey MBA?

The Adcom wants you to develop a case on WHY IVEY? Why not Rotman or Queens? What is so special about Ivey? Have you met the faculty or alumni members? OR have you attended a seminar or lecture?

Most international students can’t do this. However, they can conduct thorough research on the institution. Perhaps you read an article from an Ivey prof and you could relate to it. Or a friend recently completed his MBA and gave positive reviews about the institution.

Essay 2 is again tricky to answer and it is difficult to present a strong case unless you have a strong idea about how teams work in a MBA class. You have to prove that you are different and will add to the diversity of the team. What are your specialities? Use them to prove that you will be an asset to the team.
