In the past when students did a university degree, they tended to study in their own country. Nowadays, they have more opportunity to study abroad. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this development?

In earlier times, it was a culture for college students to complete university education in their own native land
, h . However, with the advent of globalisation, more choices are there (there are more choices) to continue education from a foreign country. While opportunity to meet with people of different cultural backgrounds and staying in an english environment are the two key rewards, a feeling of isolation and a cultural shock can be depressing. (perfect mentioning of ideas!)
First and foremost benefit of getting university education from a foreign county, especially an English country such as England and America, is the immense and unmatchable exposure that a student receives while meeting and interacting with people
from all over the world of different religious as well as cultural beliefs from all over the world is unmatchable (no need to write this. Need to change structure of the sentence in a logical format.). It not only extends his knowledge but also gives an insight of into their food and festivals. Secondly, studying in an English college and living with a host family gives pupil one-on-one experience of a conventional english society while simultaneously honing his foreign language skills. Majorly, youngsters from Asian countries dream to speak english fluently efficiently; and, pursuing further education from an english country can fulfil their desires. Recent a survey conducted by British Columbia University claims that 64 percent upsurge in foreign college admissions, especially Asian students, has been observed in last 10 years. The survey reported that most of these students study in a foriegn country to gain global exposure. (The question is not on English speaking countries but on foreign education. What about Indians studying in China and Phillippines OR Iraninas and Afghanis studying in India? Task response score suffers.)
few drawbacks that are inevitable should be equally considered, this has a drawbacks (link such as with drawbacks) such as cultural shock is the biggest disadvantage (disadvantage = drawbacks) that any student from a developing country can face. In addition, he can find himself completely misfit as per a foreigner’s standards, which can eventually disturb his peace of mind. Most importantly, a feeling of isolation can be depressing because many asian students come from large families, and living alone can bring psychological turmoil in their lives which dramatically affect their studies. (Well-written and explained!)
To recapitulate, an opportunity to study abroad is the most coveted dream
by of many students. It provides a platform to extend social circle while staying in an a traditional English atmosphere, however, demerits such as cultural shock and feeling of isolation can be conquered with strong determination.
