Item you bought IELTS cue card

Last month I purchased a Toyota Innova car in India. Though I had been planning the purchase for a long time, I finally took the step in January 2018. The vehicle is extremely costly and attracts heavy Equal Monthly Installments (EMIs). It is a 2800 cc, seven seater passenger car.

The vehicle has an elegant design with an excellent silver grey finish. Moreover, it has a powerful engine that makes the driving experience smooth while reducing the fuel efficiency. This engine allows the vehicle to carry about 7 people with luggage even on an uphill drive. This is phenomenal for my entire family which regularly travels to various destinations. The last Saturday morning we went on a two-day excursion to Manali, the queen of holiday hill stations, on this vehicle. It was an extremely comfortable ride for everyone. Furthermore, the vehicle is a 4 wheel drive, it is easy to drive it off-road. If it is caught in the mud, the 4 wheel drive is capable of driving even in worse conditions and the vehicle does not get stuck.

Follow-up Questions:

  1. Why do people purchase expensive items?
  2. Are less expensive items less satisfying? Why?
  3. Do you think people are becoming more materialistic than before?
  4. What problems are caused by the unnecessary purchase of items?
