These days a large number of products are over-packaged. Some people believe consumers should avoid these products. Others think it is responsibility of the producers to avoid over-packaging. To what extent do you agree?
Do you think consumers should avoid over packaged products or is it the responsibility of producers?

One of the most controversial issues today relates to whether consumers should avoid over packaged products or is it the responsibility of producers.
Some people believe that it is the responsibility of the producers while others claim the opposite (Same idea as in the previous sentence expressed in different words.). I believe that avoiding over packaged products should be the responsibility of the producers. In this essay, I am going to examine this question from my point of view (The examiner knows that you will present your view. No need to write this sentence.).
(Sample Introduction: With an increasing need for longer shelf life of products, companies over-package certain products these days. While some people believe that customers should avoid these products, others believe companies are better equipped to avoid over-packaging. I agree with the latter view.)
At the outset, there are a number of reasons in favour of the above notion. The most important one is that Most importantly, producers often try to add unnecessary layers of packaging to the products just to make them more appealing. In other words, the over packaging of the product does not necessarily add any value to that product. Needless to say, all these demerits have adverse impact (The question is not on DEMERITS or IMPACTS. It is on “whose responsibility is it to reduce over-packaging”.). Consequently, producers are better placed to avoid adding unnecessary layers to prducts and spend these resources to educate customers about uses of the products. (Without writing this sentence, you’ve not maintained task response. You paragraph should be focused on “WHY industries are more equipped to avoid over-packaging?”.) Another pivotal aspect of the argument is that Moreover, the producers have a moral responsibility towards the environment and should aim at adopting more sustainable business practices. This is because products raw-materials used for such packaging are not environment friendly and their use should be minimised by the producers. For example, packaging material like polystyrene is non-degradable and leads to environmental pollution. Since consumers are not in a position to study various packaging materials and make informed decisions, it is primarily the responsibility of companies. Hence, it is apparent why many are not in favour of over packaging of products. (This is not the question. Task response is poor.) As it is has been seen, there are no easy answers to this question. However, in the light of the aforementioned arguments, one can conclude that the importance of avoiding over packaging of products cannot be refuted as its benefits are too dire to ignore. (This is not the question. Please read it carefully.)
