Some people think that space exploration is a waste of resources while others think that it is essential for mankind to continue to explore the universe in which we live. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

With the advent of technology, humans continue to explore the universe to know more about the place we live in. Many argue that exploring and learning about space is a waste of human resources and money since we have a lot of (a number of) other pressing problems
to solve ranging from uncontrolled epidemics to death due to malnutrition and poverty, and pollution to illiteracy that need to be solved. (The sentence is too long. Please break it into two.) whereas others argue that it is essential to learn about the universe as the acquired knowledge can be used to save humans and earth from many disasters. In my opinion, though exploring space is important, it should be done only after adequately meeting the basic needs of humanity.
To commence with, space research requires a huge amount of money which can be diverted to meet the
primitive basic (not the right word.) needs of people (Idea clearly stated). In most of the third world (do not restrict your arguments to third world countries only.) countries spending an overwhelming amount of money on space research is not reasonable when more than half of their population lives under the poverty line and lacks the minimum basic facilities such as food, water, clothes, and shelter (Adequate explanation of Idea 1). Moreover, there are various other issues such as pollution that need to be addressed which are slowly engulfing our planet and they need to be addressed. Solving this issue requires considerable financial resources. (maintain context.) When we have so many problems on our own planet, our first actions should be focused on to improve improving healthcare, and providing education, food, housing and other social programs rather than spending millions of amount dollars on space explorations.
On the other hand, it is an undeniable fact that studying about the planets and universe gives us some valuable knowledge.
These This information gives people a deeper insight about into the universe and provides them with more information about the world they live in (What information? What valuable knowledge? Please be specific to score 7 bands or above. The information about stars and other planets is instrumental in understanding the evolution of the Earth and the Sun. This information is used in predicting the future of our planet in general and human species in particular.). Furthermore, beside from besides collecting information, many space exploration programs are used to address some of the problems in modern society (name the problems.) and even helps help in weather forecasting and preventing natural calamities. For instance, if we had not done research on space we might may not have found about ozone layer depletion or about earth’s atmosphere. (Please make only one item as focus of the example: For instance, without space research, scientists would never have discovered erosion of ozone layer in various pockets of Earth’s atmosphere. After this discovery, various countries have sent satellites to monitor the health of this layer which is crucial for the survival of life on Earth.)
To conclude, although space research is one of the biggest achievements of humans
as a whole since it helped helps in understanding the universe better, it is extremely costly (it is a costly endeavor). Spending large amounts of money on space study is not ethical when lots of people are suffering from hunger, poverty, and illness. Therefore governments should find a balance between their spending on space studies and on other social programs that would benefit a lot of people their citizens (avoid repetition) and makes make their life better.
