You have lost a driver’s license, but someone found it for you. Write a letter to that person and say

1. Explain why you need it.
2. Ask about how he/she found it.
3. Ask how you could thank him/her.

20 minutes, 150 words at least.

Answer:

Dear ABC,

I want to let you know how much I appreciate that you found my driving license. I’m not sure how much you realize that you helped me. You can break the above idea into two separate sentences. This is a semi-formal letter. You do not know the other person, yet the tone is somewhat informal.

(I am extremely pleased to know that you have found the driving license that I had lost last week. Thank you for doing me a great favor.)

Driving License is something I always keep with me because I drive all the way to my office located in Andheri East, it which is about 30 KM kilometers drive both ways from my home and there are a lot of traffic checkpoints in between. But last week I realized it was missing from my wallet. Driving without this document is risky and making a new driving license is a time taking process and t . Thankfully you came forward to rescue me from this situation. (Logically the two sentences need to be separate. The former highlights the problem. The latter expresses thanks. One sentence should contain one idea or two related ideas.) Unfortunately, I am still not able to recall where I left it, . Could you please help to explain to me how inform me the place and time at which you found it.

Please let me know if there is some way I can repay you for the kindness you have offered me. Your act of generosity has made such an impression expression.  This whole incident made me realized that humanity still exists. (Remember this is semi-formal and you’re asking for a way to thank him: Please let me know if there is a way to express my gratitude. I’m planning to travel to your city next week again. Perhaps we can have a lunch together.)
