Write a letter to your colleague who gave you a book about “presentation”. In your letter:
Explain how the book helped you?
Why the presentation is important to you?
What is the topic of the presentation?
20 minutes, 150 words at least.
Answer:
Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing this letter to express my gratification gratitude towards your helpful act (1) for lending a wonderful book that helped in making a presentation.
1. Wrong word choice. Gratification = satisfaction of an instinct (example – eating food to kill hunger). Gratitude = thank you.
The guy is your colleague. Please be a bit informal. This is a semi-formal letter.
Dear Smith,
Thank you for lending me a wonderful book on formal presentations. It has been extremely helpful in critically evaluating my presentation and designing it to impress the superiors.
First of all, the book ‘how to prepare for a presentation’ was benefitted (2) me immensely in delivering a good presentation. As I have learned the art of how to place emphasis on certain important points and how to make a concise, simple and short yet effective presentation, this book is a treasure for me. (Beautifully structured sentence. Good job! Good use of “As X, Y”, parallelism.)
2. Do not make it PASSIVE voice. No need to do this here.
The presentation was of immense significance because we were dealing with a client who wanted to have developed develop (main verb is WANTED) a website for his business firm (a firm is for business only). As you know, our my boss (company) does not want like to lose such a client, I had to make a powerful presentation. (Reasons for importance clearly stated.)
In order to convince the client to draw and sign a contract with our company for the development of the website, I had to present our Software Development life cycle policies and methodologies which included factors such as cost, time, and manpower. I would have mentioned failed in mentioning these points perfectly if I had not read the book. (The above correction changes the meaning of the sentence.)
Thanking you such a great gift.
Yours sincerely,
William.

It is very clear from the chart that making new friends is a challenging task for the people between the age of 18-34 ,reported as 46% but only 36% of reported cases are seen for the people between the age of 35-54 years while only 23% of people over 55 faced this problem. It is very easy to depict from the data that almost same percentage of people (40% and 39% ) with difference of only 1 percentage reported it challenging to find a suitable place for living between 18-34 and 34-54 years respectively.however only 22% of senior citizens found it a difficult task .learning a foreign language is the most big issue for migrators above 55 years ,experienced by 54% of them but only 35% of people faced this issue between the age of 34-54 years ,in comparison only 29% of young age group faced this challenge . > > > >
