News and media are widely viewed and read in all parts of the world. I think they impact our lives in a positive way by entertaining us and keeping us informed of the latest events.

Body Paragraph 1: (EXPLAIN reason 1 – Entertainment.)

Modern work environment is extremely busy and has a lot of stresses. We need a break from our routine activities so that we can rejuvenate and maintain our productivity. Entertainment through movies, television serials, magazines, and internet plays an instrumental role in giving us this break. For instance, I work as a software professional and my usual days are about 12 hours long. Every day, I spend one hour watching my favorite show called ‘House of Cards’. This helps me destress and prepare for the following day’s work. Thus, the media helps us improve the economic output of people, companies, and countries.

Body Paragraph 2: (EXPLAIN reason 2 – Current Affairs.)

Moreover, news through television, newspapers, and applications keep us updated with the current affairs. In a rapidly changing world, it is extremely important to keep oneself informed of technological breakthroughs that impact our professional and personal. For example, developments in big data and artificial intelligence are disrupting professions such as accounting and driving. Similarly, as responsible citizens, we must be aware of political, social and economic changes in our country and the world. News helps us thoroughly understand these developments and enable us to make an informed choice about projects and governments. For example, when the Indian government recently decided to build a road through a national park, the news media informed people of the disastrous consequences of this decision. A campaign by the people compelled the government to abandon this project.

In conclusion, I think entertainment media play a vital role in improving the economic productivity of a country. News help us make informed choices related to various current events.
