Answer:
Exchange of gifts is a common cultural trend these days. Some people think that giving presents to friends and family is a way to show love and care for them. I believe that this can be done through various non-materialistic approaches.
A gift is usually given to those whom we love. When people get receive it, they realize their special (there’s nothing called special importance) importance in someone’s our (you’ve used we earlier) life. For instance, most wives expect presents from their husbands on birthdays and anniversaries. This makes their relationship even stronger as the husband has spent money on making a day these days (refers back to anniversaries and birthdays.) memorable for his wife. In absence of such an expression, the emotions are not completely communicated and the bond between friends and family members weakens. However, sometimes people do not value these gifts, since they have their own choices. Some even like to have expensive ones only, which may not be affordable to everyone. (You’ve lost task response. This paragraph is about the importance of gifts.)
Contrarily, I favor the view that are other more important ways of expressing concerns for someone. Just a phone call or a visit, especially to distant relatives, is one of them. In fact, taking out time to attend a friend’s housewarming party or a sister’s birthday party is far better than mailing them a gift. Similarly, paying a visit to an ill relative is of worth importance more important and valued than sending a bouquet of flowers. In short, these are implicit ways of showing special care and affection for someone as time is valued more than money. (Excellent job! Well done.)
In conclusion, some people consider gifting a friendly and effective way to express love and care for someone; however, I think that frequent visits and calls to friends and family are more valuable and appreciable ways.
